How to use the NCARB ARE Handbook to study for the ARE 5.0

The ARE Handbook is a crucial part of your ARE studying process. It is the only source for official ARE questions and what you need to study.

That’s why I put it at the center of my ARE study plan.

However, it’s not easy to know how to use it. There are a limited number of questions, way too many references, and a lot of topics.

Here are the 3 ways that you need to use the ARE Handbook to effectively study for the ARE:

1. To get a sense of what ARE questions are actually like. Before you start studying for the ARE, it’s important to have a sense of what ARE questions are actually like: how in-depth they go, what sort of detail they require, and the tricks that they play. You’ll only get that by going through the ARE Handbook.

2. To get a list of topics and references that you need to study for the ARE. That’s exactly what I used to create my email course on the most common topics that the ARE loves to test, as well as the most essential references you need to buy.

3. As a final check to see if you’re prepared to take your exam. There are other practice exams out there(click on the link for our top study exam), but still, nothing compares to the actual ARE questions. If you can’t answer the questions in the Handbook, you are NOT ready for the ARE exams.

So, whether you’re about to start studying for an ARE exam, in the middle of studying for one, or about to take the actual test, you need to study the ARE Handbook!
